I am looking to buy some hanging baskets for the front of my house. When I buy my pre-made hanging floral basket do I just replant it in the coco liner? Do these liners help with moisture retention? Thanks Haley.

I just tried to offer the salient questions to which only you would know the answers. It is refreshing to see the work of designers. Designers weave visual information from many sources and make it accessible to people, who are then able to utilize it.
My mother was a designer; I wish she were alive today to enjoy all the new work being made. To eztia:, I loved how you described in such a nonplussed manner how much of your Mom's work you have hung in your house, and how you obviously embrace and treasure the work she left you.
You have had to comprehend the vision of your Mom's perception in looking at the world while maintaining the sensibility from the world's point of view. I think it has given you tolerance and empathy. It seems to me that the children of artists are far more civilized than their artist parent. My daughter has moved to Alberta and I'm sure that I'm devolving in her absence, somehow.
She is really the only person whose advice I take, about my work, my attitude, etc. Argument is futile. By their nature artists exist outside the consensus of reality; it is not always pleasant, but it is our job to question perceptions of those forces within human nature which drive it.
The children of artists understand their parent's obsession with whatever ideas consume them, attempt to keep them less than eccentric and protect them from themselves, mostly: " Did you eat? Brush your hair; You know that I can't let you go outside in those shoes. To quote eztia's gracious phrase: "Take from this what you will". I did bring smaller shades home but the ones i found were TOO small. Back to store. I followed the suggestion of lower wattage light bulbs and that made a huge difference.
I have filled in the space between buffet and painting with Christmas theme fresh greenery with all white It looks good for now. I also liked the floor lamp suggestion and will keep that in mind. House plants Q. If I was near to you I would have come over to look after them for you so that you could still enjoy.
It must be very difficult for you not being able to do the things I just take for granted. I have decided not to be fashionable in my apartment but to take the parts that appeal to me in the various pics, advice and discussions that take place within houzz. I must admit the lovely pictures of the homes are all quite unique. The ideas and discussions helpful. I will not be a slave to what is in fashion.
This is the law. It seems impossible in a home environment that every object by mere existence must have a function. To hear my husband speak anything more than 2 pillows on a bed has no function whatsoever. Yet, there is the bed with 6 pillows. Now I can ascribe a decorative function to the pillows or an esthetic one even an esoteric one but in the end they have no USE. How something looks affects us emotionally and influences what we think about it.
For that ledge to exist someone was emotionally invested in it's existence at one time. Like 5 Save. Like Save. Cliff and Joann Your patio is beautiful! Where do you find the wire baskets? I think the coir really tied the display together. Coir is also naturally durable and resists rotting. It stores well in a dry covered place for years. I will be monitoring the display over time to see just how long it will last, and I will certainly be using more coir lining in the near future.
Bring them in? Or repot in a regular pot. My understanding is that a nappy is the same as a diaper? Hi, we are producers and exporters of coir planters and coir pots for horticulture. Coir planters and pots are ideal for raising seeds and replanting in the same way without removing the plant, thus preserving the roots.

The basket requires preparation similar to that for standard planting, the liner may overhang the basket rim once pressed into place, so trimming it down with no more than 1 inch protruding above the frame makes it fit but it won't need a plastic liner, because small slits are cut into the sides and bottom of the coir liner.
You can line the coir with plastic sheeting before adding soil, if desired. Once lined, simply fill the basket with soil to within 1 inch of the rim and plant the desired plants inside at the correct depth.
Once filled, the soil anchors the plant roots slipped through the slits. You can water unlined coir-filled baskets from the top or by setting the basket in a shallow tray of water and allowing it to soak up water from the bottom until the soil surface becomes moist. By planting the top of the basket with additional plants results in a basket that looks full and attractive from every angle.
The long strands of coir used to make liners are exceptionally durable and sterile, so they don't spread disease to your basket plants and they break down slowly. They can hold a great deal of water, releasing it slowly to allow plant roots to better take it up.
These water saving coconut liners also provide good drainage. Unlike moss liners, which can be acidic, coir is pH neutral, so it works with most common container plants. The coconut husks used in coir contain potassium, copper, zinc and manganese -- all nutrients that benefit plant growth. This would work great as an alternative for any type of coco liner baskets, including hanging baskets with liners, hanging deck railing planters, or replacing coco liners for window boxes.
Coconut liner replacement filled with plants. Coconut liner replaced with landscaping fabric. If you prefer the look of the coconut liners over the landscaping fabric, another great alternative wire basket liner is burlap.
