Canary wharf which zone

What time should I leave from Paddington to get there on time assuming I'll be taking the tube? The journey planner on the Transport for London site suggests 30 minutes if using the Jubilee line or 45 minutes if using the DLR.

That's probably accurate, but you may want to add time if travelling on weekends because of all the works closures. I gave myself about 45 minutes and needed it all, because of the crowd of ticket buyers in the ticket hall and delays. The Jubilee line from Central london is one alternative but it does go round the houses a bit. This is above ground so you will get some good views as you approach the Docklands. Also, if you can, make sure you sit in the front seats as the DLR is controlled by computers and there is no driver.

Thanks for all your suggestions! I will probably take the tube there and return via DLR. So this poses another question: will my "weekend travelcard" cover all my travel? Not sure what zone Canary Wharf is in? Just wanted to thank everyone again for their help on this - it took me 45min. Sorry to say I did not return via the DLR, but I was too exhausted to walk over to the station when I was already back at the tube platform.

Must say I was shocked at how much the whole area reminded me of N. I much prefer the coziness of central London!
