Why filmmaking is an art
Education can be the means to liberate these young souls from a vicious circle that has forced their forefathers into petty jobs and a life of poverty. I collaborated with Harmony House, an NGO aimed towards providing basic education and support for such youth. I traveled around Delhi and connected with families and children belonging to many different backgrounds. This photo story was a call for help for these children. My third photo story, "life in Old Delhi", was inspired by the priceless moments and memories I gathered, traveling in narrow, dingy lanes, of old Delhi, which, once the most famous place in India, has now become an overcrowded place housing people from all cultures and economic strata.
In its narrow lanes, I saw and captured the most beautiful moments of both joy and sorrow. Giving such stories life through my films and photography is what I thrive for as an artist. In more than one way, the art of photography and filmmaking has helped me redeem the control of my life. It has given me enough strength to break the barriers of my society and follow an unconventional path. It has encouraged me to go out and explore the world with my own eyes, observe its rare beauty, capture its various stories and understand its deepest sufferings.
My ambition is to become a respected photographer and filmmaker so that I can share my stories with the entire world. I want to be free of limitations, learn and produce work. My art motivates me and gives me the passion for following this ambition. It not only made me understand myself, my style and my goals better, but it also helped me realize my own potential and abilities.
It gives us a sense of who he is as a person and what moves him. To have personal insight is a prerequisite for the emotional intelligence needed to create empathetic and relatable characters. All of the previous points can be summed up in this reason.
Movies are the highest art from because it takes writing, story, photography, drawing, painting, concept art, animation, visual effects, music, acting, and a whole host of other talents, skills, and abilities from talented individuals.
Much like a complex jigsaw puzzle, an incredible number of small pieces and details have to come together in order to make a final feature. So I am not saying movies supersede the works of incredibly talented artists from generations past, but the amount of pure art that goes into creating a finished motion picture elevates it in my opinion to the king of art because it leaves nothing out.
Movies are truly made by people for the enjoyment of people. First time here? We also have some great free stuff! Remember to connect with us on our social networks to stay updated on our latest news, giveaways, announcements and more!
There is no doubt in the fact that a film first develops in your mind and then it cultivates into a storyline and then into a movie altogether. Initially anybody who wants to make a movie has to think of a concept.
A concept then develops into a script with characters included. A script then goes on to becoming a screenplay and that is nothing but the entire script broken into scene- by- scene narration. Then the next process is finding a director who will direct the movie. The director needs to be someone who understands the script, who understands the sensibilities of the story. Sometimes a director himself becomes a writer and that is the best thing because a writing your own film will make it come out better as a movie as a director can see and ideate the shots, the storyline, the characters etc.
At times stories are written later the characters and actors are thought first and the story ends up revolving around them. Once the script, screenplay and the director is ready then you can approach a producer who will produce the movie.
This part requires a lot of marketing qualities as you actually need to sell the script, plot to the producer so that he can put in the money and he is the only person who will sell the movie to the distributors all over the world and country. A producer is extremely important in the picture because if he wishes he can increase the budget of the movie and that would give a director a larger canvas to make the movie. The producer will also give some creative inputs with regards to the movie as he is the one putting the money so he can also approve or disapprove certain things for example if a director wants to use a helicopter for a sequence a producer can say that its not possible in the budget use a car instead and hence the director will have to listen and do the same as he cant afford to upset the producer.
Another challenge is the casting. The actors in the movie are the most important as these people carry the film on their shoulders, they will enact the story out in front of the audience. Lastly once the movie is in the process another major element is cinematography where the cinematographer tries to capture the entire look and feel of the film and puts it in front of the audience for an entire package.
